Youth Ministry Programs of St. Peter's Church

 

Sunday School

Sunday school is for children & youth ages 2—18. 
Sunday school classes are held at 10:15 AM, between our two worship services.  In Sunday school, students learn about the Christian faith in fun and creative ways from our caring and friendly adult teachers.

Classes include:  Toddlers, Pre-school, Grades 1st & 2nd, 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, 7th & 8th, and high school.The Sunday school classes are located on the lower level in the multi-purpose building.

 

Youth Choir

Youth Choir is for children and youth of all ages.   The choir performs at various times throughout the year and concludes the season with a presentation in the spring.  Youth of all levels of singing and dancing
experience are welcome to participate in the choir. 

Youth Choir practices are held on Saturday mornings.  Youth Choir is led by Music Director, David Horstman.

 

Youth Groups

Youth groups offer activities for children and youth to connect  with peers and adult role models in a positive, youth friendly environment.  Youth group programs and activities help kids learn about God and explore their personal faith.  Each group considers the spiritual understanding and emotional development for children at their age. The three groups are:

Sr. High youth group is for youth in high school.  The focus of this group is ministry within and ministry
beyond our church walls, and developing authentic Christian community among the group.

Jr. High youth group is for youth in 7th through 8th grade.  Group activities are coordinated with the confirmation class and include fellowship activities and
service projects.

Elementary youth group is for children in 1st through 6th grade.  The group focuses on learning Faith Practices of our Christian Faith.

Youth groups are led by Youth Director, Kyle Nix.

 

Confirmation

Confirmation at St. Peter’s is a two-year program led by the Senior Pastor.  Confirmation is a time to explore the Christian faith as young people consider accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior.

The class is offered to 7th and 8th grades students, as well as others who wish to be confirmed in the Christian faith.

 

Open Gym

For our Open Gym program youth participate in pick-up basketball under the supervision of adult leaders.  The sessions are offered on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.  Open Gym is for youth ages 10 through 18.
